Helena sits at roughly 4,000 feet of elevation in the Prickly Pear Valley, surrounded by the Big Belt Mountains to the east and the Continental Divide to the west. That geography makes for long, cold winters — and it's why so many homes here depend on supplemental heat from wood stoves, pellet stoves, and gas fireplaces. A lot of the housing stock near the capitol building and Last Chance Gulch dates back a century or more, and those older homes often have original masonry fireplaces that need updated inserts, new chimney liners, or complete rebuilds. Beyond Helena, we also serve the communities of Lincoln — about 60 miles northwest on Highway 200 — Wolf Creek along the Missouri River corridor, and Augusta out on the Rocky Mountain Front.
