Jefferson County stretches between our two locations in a way that makes it one of the most convenient counties we serve. Whitehall sits about 25 miles east of Butte on I-90, while Montana City and Clancy are just 15 minutes south of our Helena office on I-15. Boulder — the county seat — lands right in the middle, roughly 30 miles south of Helena along the Boulder River valley. No matter where you are in Jefferson County, you're close to a Perry's location.

The housing in Jefferson County is a real mix. Montana City has been growing steadily as a bedroom community for Helena — newer subdivisions, young families, and modern homes that are well-suited for gas fireplaces and clean-burning inserts. Head west toward Whitehall and Basin, though, and you'll find more rural properties — older ranch houses, homesteads, and cabins along the Jefferson River where freestanding wood stoves have been the primary heat source for decades. Many of those stoves are nearing the end of their useful life and need to be replaced with newer, EPA-certified models that burn cleaner and more efficiently.

Basin, tucked along I-15 between Boulder and Butte, is one of the smaller communities we serve — but the homes out there deal with some of the harshest cold in the county. Elevation runs around 5,000 feet, and the narrow canyon geography funnels frigid air right through town. Reliable supplemental heat isn't a nice-to-have in Basin — it's essential.
