The ceramic logs are built to give you the look and feel of a real hearth fire —from the couch, it reads as a wood fire, but it starts with a remote and there’s no splitting, hauling, or sweeping. You choose the wood: dark brown, chopped wood, driftwood, valley oak, or birch. Because it stands on legs in open space with glass on three sides , the fire is visible from most seats in the room instead of just the ones facing a wall. It still needs a gas connection and venting, which our team plans during the in-home visit—but there’s no wall to open up and no finish work to rebuild afterward. Possible downsides The double-glass heat barrier isn’t available on this model; the protective barrier is a fine mesh screen. Interior choices are matte black or an optional black reflective panel; for a brick-lined firebox, look at the Wilderness Traditional models. Interior lighting is an optional add-on, not included.
