It builds into a framed wall, which means finish work is part of the job—make sure it’s part of the quote. Passive cool wall technology keeps the surface above the fire cool, so a TV or artwork can hang right above the fireplace instead of a foot of bare drywall. Because it’s a high-glass model, internal lighting comes standard . The logs stay visible even when the flame is off, the remote dims the light from a soft glow to full brightness, and the same remote can hold the room at a set temperature or run the fire on a timer. Possible downsides It won’t operate during a power outage. The lighting feature means it runs on an AC adapter rather than batteries. The black reflective interior is an add-on, not included.
