Ortal’s frameless European design lets your tile, stone, or plaster run right to the edge of the glass —no louvers, no metal border, just finish material and fire. The wall above stays cool enough for what you actually want there. Ortal’s passive cool wall design means you can hang a TV or artwork directly above the fireplace , which is exactly where most open-plan layouts want them. The remote works like a thermostat: set 70 and the fireplace holds the room there on its own , adjusting the flame as needed—or run it from the wall switch or the app. Possible downsides It builds into a framed wall. This is a new-construction or remodel unit, and every install ends with finish work; it can’t slide into an existing masonry fireplace. The double glass and lighting versions require household power and won’t operate during a power outage. Interior lighting and the black reflective interior are add-ons , not included.
