If you’re building or remodeling and want the fireplace to work as architecture—wrapping the end of a wall or dividing two spaces—the Ortal Three Sided 25H & 75 is built for that job. It frames into the wall during construction, so plan on finish work as part of the project. Choose a single-sided unit instead and the fire belongs to one couch. The fire reads as part of the wall, not an appliance mounted on it. Above the fire, Ortal’s passive cool wall technology keeps the surface cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang directly over the fireplace . The spot every open floor plan wants to use stays usable. The remote carries a built-in thermostat: set 70 and the fireplace holds the room there on its own, adjusting the flame as needed. The 25H also includes dimmable interior lighting , so the firebox glows as a lit feature even when the flame is off . Possible downsides Double-glass models need household power and will not run during a power outage. The protective screen version comes only in the 75 size ; the 25H is offered as double glass only. The black reflective interior is an add-on , not included with either size. If you want the fire to be part of the architecture instead of a picture on one wall, the Three Sided 25H & 75 is the right decision. The fire stays in view as you move through the space, and the room it anchors becomes the one everyone ends up in.
