Ortal
Front Facing FR 60H Gas Fireplace
The Five-Foot Linear Showpiece Five feet of fire, and a wall above it cool enough for your TV. Who it’s for You’re building or remodeling, and the fireplace wall is the one the whole room faces—TV above, tile or stone running edge to edge. Most fireplaces fight that plan: trim and louvers interrupt the finish, and the wall above gets too hot to hang anything on. You need a fireplace that’s built into the wall, not framed onto it. If the fire should be the first thing people see when they walk in, the Ortal Front Facing FR 60H is the one. Choose a standard framed unit instead and you’ll end up designing the room around its trim. Quick facts Viewing area: 60 1/8″ wide with tall 21 5/8″ glass Fuel: natural gas; propane conversion available Controls: handheld remote with thermostat; wall switch and app control available What makes it special The fire itself is the architecture here. The glass runs just over five feet wide and nearly two feet tall , so the flame reads as a wall of fire, not a ribbon . Dimmable interior lighting comes standard on every high-glass model, and it runs with the flame or without it—so the fireplace still glows on a summer evening. Because the design keeps the surface above the unit cool, a TV or artwork can hang right above the fire . And the frameless European edge means your finish material—tile, stone, plaster—runs right to the glass, with no louvers and no trim ring announcing an appliance. Possible downsides It won’t run during a power outage —the interior lighting (and the double glass version) operates on household power. It builds into a framed wall , so every installation ends with finish work; it does not slide into an existing fireplace. The black reflective interior is an upgrade , not standard. If you want the fire to be the thing people notice before anything else in the room, the FR 60H is the right decision. The wall you’re planning becomes the room the whole house lives in. The FR 60H comes with your choice of five included log sets—standard, weathered driftwood, refractory clay, and short or long English logs—plus bonfire, campfire, aspen, and charred-branch media as upgrades, a protective micro-mesh screen or double glass front, an optional black reflective interior, and a propane conversion.
