This one climbs. Behind the glass is a fire view more than five feet tall , and because the front is frameless, your tile or stone runs right to the edge of the flame—no metal border, no louvers. It builds into a framed wall, so plan on finish work as part of the install; when it’s done, the wall itself seems to hold the fire . The Front Facing line is built with passive cool wall technology, which means a TV or artwork can hang right above the fire instead of a careful distance away. And the remote carries a thermostat: set 70 and the flame adjusts on its own to hold the room there. The interior lighting is dimmable from the remote and runs with or without the flame —so the fireplace still glows on an August evening when the last thing you want is heat. Possible downsides It will not run during a power outage ; the lighting features require the plug-in power supply. It ships set up for natural gas only ; running it on propane takes a conversion kit installed by your dealer.
