Then there’s the wall above. Ortal’s passive cool wall technology means a TV or artwork can hang directly above the fire , so the feature wall you’re planning doesn’t have to stop at a mantel line—there isn’t one. You run all of it from the couch: a handheld remote with a built-in thermostat holds the room at the temperature you set, and wall switch or app control are available if that’s how your house works. Possible downsides The double glass front and interior lighting require household power —configured that way, the fireplace won’t run during a power outage. Interior lighting and the black reflective interior are optional , not included. It ships set up for natural gas ; running propane means a certified conversion kit installed by a qualified technician.
