Nearly six and a half feet of flame runs down the wall and wraps around the right side, so the fire reads as architecture instead of an appliance—visible from the couch, the kitchen, and the hallway at once. There is no frame breaking up the view: your tile or stone runs right to the edge of the glass. Ortal’s Passive Cool Wall design keeps the surface above the unit cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang directly over the fire —no mantel required, no rearranging the room around the heat. Possible downsides This model wraps the right corner only; if your room calls for the fire to turn left, look at the LS 77HH. Configured with double glass or interior lighting, it will not run during a power outage —those features require the plug-in adapter.
