Pick a single-sided unit instead and the fire belongs to one half of the room. There’s no frame around it either: Ortal’s clean European design lets your tile or stone run right to the edge of the glass , so the fire reads as part of the wall, not an appliance set into it . The wall above stays cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang directly over the fire —Ortal calls it Passive Cool Wall Technology, and it means the corner can hold both the fire and the screen without a mantel between them. The remote has a thermostat built in: set 70 and the fireplace holds the room there , adjusting the flame on its own while you do something else. Possible downsides The glass wraps the right corner only ; if your corner opens to the left, look at the LS 60 instead. The double glass barrier and interior lighting run on household power , so those versions won’t operate during an outage. Interior lighting and the black reflective interior are add-ons , not included. If you want the fire to be the first thing people notice from anywhere in the room, the Corner RS 60 is the right decision. The room it anchors becomes the one everyone ends up in.
