Corner Right Side RS 51H Gas Fireplace
The Corner Statement Piece A fire the whole room can see—with a TV hanging right above it. Who it’s for A fireplace set flat into a wall shows its fire to the seats directly in front of it, and in an open floor plan that leaves half the room looking at a cabinet. You need a fire the whole room can see. If you’re building or remodeling and the fireplace is meant to be the first thing people notice —from the couch, the kitchen, the dining table—this is the category to shop. A standard single-sided unit will do the job politely; the Ortal Corner RS 51H turns the corner so the fire is part of the room from every angle. Quick facts Viewing area: 53″ across the front, turning the right-side corner Fuel: natural gas (propane conversion available) Controls: remote with thermostat; wall switch and app control available Interior lighting: included, dimmable from the remote Heat barrier: your choice of protective screen or double glass What makes it special The glass turns the corner: 53 inches of fire across the front and another pane running down the right side, with no frame between the flame and the room . It builds into a framed wall and your tile, stone, or plaster runs right to the edge of the glass, so plan on finish work as part of the job—the payoff is a fire set into the architecture, not an appliance hung on it . Ortal’s passive cool wall construction keeps the wall above the fireplace cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang right above the fire . In a corner installation, that means one wall carries both the screen and the flame instead of fighting over the room’s best real estate. Because this is a High Glass model, it comes with interior lighting you can dim from the remote —set it anywhere from a soft glow to full brightness, and run the light without the flame on a summer evening. The remote also holds a temperature: set 70 and the fireplace cycles on its own to keep the room there. Possible downsides It will not operate during a power outage —the interior lighting means it runs on an AC adapter rather than battery backup. The glass wraps the right corner only ; if your corner opens to the left, look at the LS 51H. The black reflective interior is an add-on , not included. If you want the fire to be visible from every seat in the room—not just the ones in front of it—the RS 51H is the right decision. The corner you never knew what to do with becomes the room the house lives in. The RS 51H comes with your choice of five included log sets—standard, weathered driftwood, refractory clay, and short or long English logs—plus optional bonfire, campfire, aspen, and branch media, an optional black reflective interior, and a protective screen or double-glass face.
