The room gets designed around the fire, not around keeping things away from it. The controls do the tending for you. Set 70 and thermostatic mode holds the room at that temperature on its own , cycling the flame as needed; Eco mode rolls the flame between high and low, program mode runs it on a schedule, and the MyFire app puts all of it on your phone. There’s also a countdown timer, so the fire can put itself out after you’ve gone to bed. Every LS 68 includes a barrier that reduces the risk of burns from the hot glass—your choice of a near-invisible protective screen or a double glass front. Possible downsides Left-corner orientation only. If your wall wraps the other way, look at the right-side RS 68. The double glass version requires household power and won’t operate during a power outage. The black reflective interior and interior lighting are add-ons, not included.
