A single-face unit will warm the room just fine; this one is the one people turn their chairs toward. From either side of the room, you see fire—not hardware. Above it, Passive Cool Wall Technology keeps the wall over the unit cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang directly above the fire , so the corner carries the flame and the wall carries the screen. Every LS 51 includes a heat barrier—choose a near-invisible protective mesh screen or a double-glass front —to reduce the risk of burns from the hot viewing glass, which matters in a house with kids or pets. Possible downsides Left-corner orientation only; if your room calls for the glass to wrap the right side, look at the RS 51. The double-glass and interior-lighting versions require household power and will not operate during a power outage; the screen version doesn’t share that limitation. Interior lighting is optional, not included, on this model. If you want a fire people can see from two sides of the room, the LS 51 is the right decision.
