Over five feet of fire, visible from the front and the side, reads as part of the wall rather than an appliance set into it. Passive cool wall technology keeps the wall above the fire cool enough that a TV or artwork can hang directly above it —the fire holds the room, and the wall above stays usable. As a high-glass model, it comes with internal lighting built in. Dim it from a glow to full brightness with the remote, or run the light with no flame at all on a mild evening. The same remote holds a thermostat: set 70 and the fire adjusts itself to keep the room there. Possible downsides It won’t run during a power outage. The lighting requires the plug-in power adapter, so the fireplace depends on household electricity. The glass wraps the left corner only. If your wall calls for the fire on the right, look at the right-side 60H. The black reflective interior is an option, not standard.
