The Corner Statement Piece A fire you can see from almost anywhere in the room. Who it’s for Most fireplaces face one direction, so the fire disappears the moment you step away from the seats directly in front of it. You need a fire you can see from more than one side of the room. If you’re planning a space where the fireplace is part of the architecture rather than a box in the wall, this is the corner to build it around. A single-face unit does its job and stays out of the way; the Ortal Corner Left Side is the thing people notice from the doorway . Quick facts Viewing area: glass wraps the corner—across the front and down the left side Fuel: natural gas; propane conversion available Controls: handheld remote with thermostat, timer, and program modes; app and wall-switch control optional Heat barrier: double glass or protective mesh screen—every version includes one Lighting: internal lighting with a dimmer on the 25H high-glass model What makes it special There is no metal frame between the fire and the room. Ortal builds the Corner Line so your tile or stone runs right to the edge of the glass , and the glass itself turns the corner. From the couch, the kitchen doorway, and the hall, the fire is simply there —two sides of it, not a picture of it. The wall above it stays cool enough that you can hang a TV or artwork directly above the fireplace . That’s what Ortal’s cool-wall construction is for: the fireplace anchors the media wall instead of forcing the screen off to the side. Living with it is push-button work. The remote holds the room at the temperature you set —set 70 and the flame adjusts on its own—or runs on a timer, a weekly program, or an energy-saving mode that cycles the flame up and down. On the 25H, the internal lighting has its own dimmer, so the firebox can glow with no flame at all on a mild evening. Possible downsides Double-glass and lighted versions run on an AC adapter and won’t operate during a power failure. This page is the left-side configuration only ; if your corner opens to the right, Ortal builds a right-side version of every model in the line. Internal lighting comes only on the 25H high-glass model , not on the 75 versions. If you want the fire visible from more than one direction, the Corner Left Side is the right decision. The corner you’d have filled with a plant becomes the reason everyone picks that side of the room. It takes your choice of five included log sets—standard, weathered driftwood, refractory clay, and short or long English logs—plus upgrade media from bonfire, campfire, and aspen sets to charred branches in black, grey, or white, and an optional black reflective interior that mirrors the flame.
